Frequently asked questions
How can offering customer financing support sales?
Financing can give eligible customers an alternative when paying the full price up front is a barrier. It may help more buyers complete a purchase and consider larger purchases or a fuller project scope. The impact depends on your business, customer demand, approvals, and financing terms. Review completed sales, average purchase value, merchant fees, and cancellations to assess the value for your business; no sales increase is guaranteed.
What is customer financing?
Customer financing lets your customers apply for installment financing to pay for eligible purchases over time instead of paying the full amount up front. The financing provider handles the lending: it makes the credit decision, sets the customer's terms, and services repayment. It is separate from business loans, merchant cash advances, and payment settlement.
Does ONKORE lend money or make credit decisions?
No. ONKORE is a payment technology advisor, not a lender. For example, U.S. Bank Avvance is a point-of-sale consumer installment lending program operated by U.S. Bank. The financing provider makes all credit decisions, originates the loans, and services customer repayment. ONKORE does not originate loans, make credit decisions, or service consumer debt.
What does customer financing cost my business?
Eligible base financing plans may offer a 0% merchant financing fee. Availability depends on your enrolled program and selected plan; confirm your merchant fee before offering financing. Optional customer no-interest or promotional plans may carry merchant fees and must be separately enabled.
Does a 0% merchant financing fee mean customers pay 0% APR?
No. The merchant financing fee is the business’s cost for the financing transaction. Customer APR is separate and is determined by the lender. A 0% merchant financing fee does not mean interest-free financing for the customer. Customer approval, rates, available terms, and purchase minimums depend on the lender and selected plan.
When does my business get paid for a financed purchase?
Under published program terms, the business is paid for the financed amount up front and the provider collects repayment directly from the customer. Current funding timing and conditions are confirmed with the provider during enrollment; ONKORE does not guarantee funding.
Which businesses and industries can offer it?
Availability depends on the program's merchant and industry eligibility. Published provider materials reference industries such as home improvement, healthcare (where eligible), retail, services, lodging, and restaurants. ONKORE can help you review fit and next steps; industry support is confirmed at enrollment.
What information do you collect from me or my customers?
The ONKORE inquiry form collects only your business and contact details and your typical customer purchase amount. ONKORE does not collect customer Social Security numbers, dates of birth, bank details, credit information, or consumer loan applications. Customers apply directly with the financing provider.
